Many leading theorists developed phase theories to describe the various stages that occur on the path of personality development. Therefore there some theories described below that focus on various. Aspects of personality development include cognitive, moral, and social development.

Piaget’s stages of cognitive development — Jean Piaget’s theory of cognitive development. Despite being subject to considerable criticism, it cited most frequently in psychology.
